Winter Camp 2020 Aug 7-9. Lindisfarne Camp near Timaru - hosted by Chch HHH

Another brilliant Winter Camp, organised by Christchurch HHH at Lindisfarne Presbyterian Camp, some 40km from Timaru. August 7 th to 9 th . The weekend effectively started for many attendees with a road trip from Christchurch led by SSS. 1 st assembly point was Rolleston, with drinks stops through the afternoon at Mayfield, Geraldine and Pleasant Point. Head chef STD and the Christchurch hash provided a great Friday dinner and the hash musicians Bolyx, EmDef, Xerox, Perky, Dagy with vocals Mimi, Hornie, RLD, Vasie and many others were soon in full swing. Outside the very warm lounge/kitchen area, the warmth was provided by plentiful supplies of alcohol and a flammable liquid fueled brazier fire, overseen by Health and Safety officer Mole. The last of the revelers, led by who else but Xerox and MB called it a morning just before breakfast. A big breakfast cooked by STD and Workashirka and it was assembly for the run at 10amish. Hare Ding a ling had set the runners trail on the Friday with able assistance from Tripod who happened to arrive at camp early. The runners trail was not long but was over very tough terrain, either steep up or steep down up and around the high hills surrounding the camp. Lots of Ongaonga to navigate on the downhill section. Dogs and Tripod provided sweeping cover. Walkers enjoyed a short stroll beside the river to the PS. A great circle back at camp, started off by Shunter then Ding a ling and SSS and then general input from the floor. Highlights included Xerox’s hilarious reenactment of the mystery urinater in bunkroom one, which turned out to be a drunk Mole who couldn’t find the door hidden behind curtains. That evening was the Dead Celebrities theme. Some very impressive costumes especially Evil Knievel, Ms Tripod and Mother Teresa. Again the Hash band cranked up with guest spot on the harp VominStix. A short recovery walk Sunday morning followed by another very entertaining circle. Just Chris was named “Spreads easily” after his very funny recounting of the Mole incident in which he and his bed had been mistaken for FFFF’s. A brilliant weekend - thank you Christchurch hash, especially GM Ding-a-ling and committee STD, RLD, Workashirka, EmDef and Mole.
